Best Places to Grab a Cup of Coffee in Raleigh
In a hurry this morning and forgot to make yourself a cup of coffee before heading out the door? Or are you simply looking to try out a new coffee shop in Raleigh? You’re in luck because Raleigh, North Carolina, is home to some amazing coffee shops worth the trip before work. If you’re looking to find a new local favorite, try one of these places.
Jubala Coffee
Jubala Coffee has two locations: one on Honeycutt Road and the other on Hillsborough Street. Both locations offer amazingly fresh and aromatic coffee that will have you running out the door every morning in anticipation. When it comes to caffeinated beverages, Jubala specializes in espresso drinks and lattes, but they have a few coffee options available as well.
The café likes to keep things interesting by offering a single origin espresso that rotates out every Friday. They also serve a seasonal latte; however, outside of the seasonal latte and rotating espresso, their offerings are fairly standard for a coffee shop. Jubala has a food menu that includes quick bites and pastries, breakfast, and a small selection of sandwiches.
Benelux Coffee Roasters
Benelux has been serving great coffee and stroopwafels, which are two thin waffle-shaped wafers with a filling between them, since 2010. However, in 2012, Benelux took another leap forward and began roasting their own beans, creating some of the freshest coffee you can get. There’s a clear difference between coffee that’s freshly roasted and coffee that has sat in a burlap bag for a week. You can experience the truly amazing coffee at one of their two locations.
BREW Coffee Bar
If you find yourself strolling down Seaboard Avenue, be sure to stop in for some coffee at BREW Coffee Bar. They offer coffees that have been prepared in a number of ways such as cold brew, French press, pour over, and more. The café also has a nice selection of tea and tea-based drinks such as chai tea lattes. Locals who are familiar with the café enjoy the quiet atmosphere to sit down, enjoy some great coffee, and get some work done.
Liquid State
This coffee shop is located on Hillsborough Avenue, and it’s not just another coffee shop for amazing fresh coffee. The restaurant has delicious meat pies, and the owner offers wine tasting classes every month or so. Liquid State is a wonderful place to hang out and be productive, or you can simply order a drink and relax. The café also has exciting events that make it a great date night, such as drink and draw, wine classes, coffee tastings, and live performances. There’s always a good reason to stop into Liquid State.
You don’t have to travel far to get a great cup of coffee in Raleigh. Whether you’re looking for a quiet place to enjoy a coffee and get some work done or you’re looking for a more social scene, you’re sure to find the right café for you. Try one listed above. It might even become your new favorite getaway.
